Seth MacFarlane mentioned the episode in response to concerns over how his animated series have portrayed LGBT characters. “It always distresses me when I hear that the gay community is upset with us, because that’s one group of people I hope would know we’re on their side. I can safely say that the transsexual community will be very, very happy with the ‘Quagmire’ episode that we have coming up in a couple of months. It’s probably the most sympathetic portrayal of a transexual [sic] character that has ever been on television, dare I say.”
He also defended Brian’s vomiting after discovering he had sex with someone who had undergone sex re-assignment surgery noting Brian’s character is heterosexual and “If I found out that I had slept with a transsexual, I might throw up in the same way that a gay guy looks at a vagina and goes, ‘Oh, my God, that’s disgusting.’”

It’s been obvious for decades that nearly all anti-trans violence is aimed exclusively at CAMAB trans people and that the lion’s share specifically targets CAMAB trans people of color. It’s really just radical feminists and CAFAB trans people (mostly trans men) who deny this, the former because it’s a reality which contradicts their ideological preconceptions and the latter because they’re morally bankrupt douchebags who are willfully blind to their privilege over CAMAB trans people.

On Radical Feminist Bathrooms
When radical feminists insist that women’s bathrooms should be exclusively for “biological females”, they invariably fail to actually explain how the hell this is supposed to work.
As a purely political term coined by radical feminists, “biological female” is both scientifically and legally meaningless — even radical feminists themselves argue incessantly about which biological features define “biological femaleness”. And then what? Are feminists going to station a nurse with a blood sampling kit at the door of every women’s bathroom, or are they simply going to endorse the ongoing practice of attacking any person who is suspected of being a trans woman based solely on appearance?
For those who say that intersex women are ok but not trans women, which intersex conditions are allowed, what kind of medical documentation is required, and who is allowed to demand papers? For those who insist that trans men should be allowed to use women’s bathrooms, how exactly are trans men to be distinguished from cis men? How precisely do radical feminists propose that the law enforce legal sex/gender segregation by means other than legal sex/gender, especially considering the status quo is that men’s and women’s bathrooms are a social convention without formal standing in the law?
Keep in mind that gender policing against trans women has repeatedly proven itself to also target cis women who are not conventionally feminine, especially (but not exclusively) butch lesbians. Do radical feminists who support policing have any answers there, or are “unfeminine” women acceptable collateral damage in the holy crusade to purge the bathrooms of trans women?

i used to be one of those “feminists”.
i used to think that i wouldn’t be safe somehow if trans*women were included in feminist spaces.
you know why i thought this? one specific experience with one person in which i was the asshole who overreacted, i was the one who was projecting, i was the one who was monopolizing space/conversation, i was the one who extended my friendliness and then drew it away when i became uncomfortable because of issues i myself had with gender fluidity, sexuality and expressions of that.
i couldn’t digest my own uncertainty.
and you know, i’d love to say hey i sat down with my ignorant ass and hashed this shit out. but in reality i ended up haphazardly educating myself and the projection faded, i got over myself. on my time. in my own comfort. without being challenged on my shit by anyone. that’s privilege. i got no shit for this whatsoever, and letting go of my own crap was not hard in the least.
protip: it’s not hard to realize you’re afraid and being a fucking asshole when someone else’s emotional wellbeing and safety are on the line. it’s necessary, and even if it is hard? so what.
i hurt someone’s feelings because of my fear. i made someone feel unsafe and unwelcome because of that fear. oh, i never said anything or did anything direct, but i withdrew and basically ran away because i, in my intense arrogance, couldn’t deal with the fact that someone was before me who needed community and support from women, who didn’t fit into my nice little gender spectrum that makes me feel safe and secure.
and that’s fucked up.
and this is what radical feminism does on a daily basis. by erasing women, by dividing gender into easily digestible segments based on birth, sexual preference, biology and pseudo-science designed to comfort ourselves, ciswomen, we harm women. it’s an intense privilege and fucking hypocritical for us to call trans* folk our sisters because we try to exterminate them on a daily basis by siding with homicidal patriarchal values to protect some antiquated and static notion of our own gender, but the truth is that if there are not rights for all women, we are all fucked: ciswomen, queer women, women of color, trans*women, disabled women and all of the intersections of each of these and more.
and you cannot see this, or maybe you can, radical feminists. maybe you really are so callous and cruel that you just want the rights for yourselves. you just want safety for yourselves, and when we ciswomen really get them, most of you will turn around and burn every woman you left behind. maybe that is the case. maybe you are fucking murderers and bigots and fascists just like the men and institutions in power.
we have a dire responsibility as ciswomen, and i speak to white ciswomen as we are the most dangerously privileged of the bunch, to stop oppressing women and those people who identify as female or in between or somewhere else entirely with the tools of the patriarchy that we claim to struggle so hard against.
if you exclude trans*women, especially trans*women of color, you are colluding with the genocide perpetrated against their bodies every day by society.
you fucking radscum want to make these hateful and sociopathic claims that trans*women are rapists? well, you’re all fucking murderers when you say this stuff. you’re snuggling right up to the big generous arm of the gender-static psycopathic patriarchy when you open your mouths and exclude anyone who does not actively support your comfort, YOUR rights, YOUR voice.white women have a voice from birth. it’s a smaller one than men, but it’s there. so stop fucking helping these blistering fools kill. stop it. that’s what we do when we do this.

She has had numerous blogs and each have been removed. Tumblr staff are aware of her, and as far as I’m aware she currently doesn’t have a blog, but this does not mean she isn’t still on peoples tumblrs, asking via anon where you live, what your name is.
An email I received today. She’s sending out information of same sex couples with children so the children can be kidnapped. She entitled it “Time to strike back”. If that doesn’t suggest harmful intentions I don’t know what does.

Archaic speech that is now insulting doesn’t get a free pass.
That’s why language evolves. That’s why concepts evolve. Many people were hurt in the past by ideals of an imaginary “norm”, in the feminist community as well. We shouldn’t sweep them under the carpet—that’s ignoring the lesson to be learned—but they shouldn’t form some sort of ideal of the “norm” today.
That allows these archaic forms of speech to still harm people. Like they say, age doesn’t excuse racists—people are still affected by racism in their old age, so old racists need to be called out. One of the reasons I can’t stand being with my grandmother. That, and the fact that she hates my guts and dotes on my brother just because he’s the boy.
edit: if you’ve met someone who thinks “political correctness” is a laughable idea, you know what this entails. They refuse to believe someone can actually be hurt by things that are of the past and yet continue to shape our modern lives. It’s like they never studied history at all.
Just so you know, there is a difference between being politically correct and spouting bullshit. I go for accuracy and being a decent human being, which is pretty much what political correctness was based on, but I don’t have to mindlessly parrot the party line.

When I get online in the morning, usually anytime between 6 and 9 am, unless I was up late, my blog is full of things like kittens, art, comics, etc. Sometimes a funny gif set. Every now and again, a news item will pop up that I’ll have a comment on, but otherwise, things are calm. (The thing about Romney was great, even though that was somewhat later.)
Then the day wears on. And on. And on.
And so do the posts of my friends having to defend themselves against racists, stalkers, transphobics and other assorted malignant growths. All day. All day, until well into the night. I can recall several times that the shit went on until 2 am or later. And yes, some of them are on the east coast, and it is that late for them.
Could they log off? Sure. But should they have to?
Could they block folks? Sure. But should they have to?
Could they decide not to discuss their own lives and the things that affect them? Could they decide to post kittens and comics and handbags and shoes all day, and not give a fuck about what’s doing them harm?
Are you serious? :/

Think about why folks are so busy telling folks to change their behavior when they aren’t doing anything wrong — when we aren’t doing anything wrong. There are only so many times someone will stand for being punched in the face before someone gets shot in the pinky toe. /HarlemNights
And I don’t get nearly as much shit as these folks do. Not half as much. Not half of half. That is because I can’t abide it. I cannot entertain it. I enforce my limits because I don’t actually have a choice. Reasons. But just because someone else can take it doesn’t mean they should have to, and just because someone can jump in folks’ inboxes with racial slurs and other smatterings of fecal matter doesn’t mean it’s okay. It doesn’t make it defensible, so stop defending it.
And since Tumblr won’t do shit — they’ve shown us time and time again that they won’t do shit — who is going to stand for us if we don’t stand for each other? And fuck it, I’ll go there. Who is gonna stan for us? Y’all don’t give a fuck, so we have to. We go hard in the paint for ours, because y’all don’t do a damn thing about yours.
Half of y’all are saying you do give a fuck, how dare I tell you how I feel. Ha. See, if you gave a fuck, you’d stop worrying about whether or not we’re being nice and saying “please go away” with a smile. You’d stop worrying about howI’m saying what I’m saying, and think about what the fuck I said.
You’d be worrying about the folks sending death threats, harassing families, prank calling, doxing folks, sending emails to parents/families that could get someone kicked out on the street. Because that’s not us. That’s not our folks, that’s yours. Worry about that. Do something about that. Don’t attack the victim for punching the abuser when the abuser has them backed into a corner.
And I keep saying it, but I’ll say it again. Context matters. When Riley, or Karn, or BA, or even me!, or any of these folks are mad enough to talk shit and cuss folks out and read bitches and all that other shit there is a reason. There is a shitton of fucking context.
So yeah. Folks are mad. They deserve to get mad, they deserve to vent their anger, and if that means that they vent that shit all over the folks who abuse them as well as the folks supporting the abusers, oh fucking well.
I don’t know why shit has to come to this. I don’t know why people have to be told this shit, and I damn sure don’t know why it has to be constantlyrepeated. Folks are always willing to listen to another side of the story, but when it comes to us, y’all act like y’all already read the book, the sequel, the prequel, reread the book, seen the movie and bought the DVD. Y’all act brand-fucking-new, when you’re not. Everything you have to say has already been said by about 850 other people who are also ignoring context, and probably in the same damn day.
We are tired of people defending folks who abuse us. Silence is not an option.
And if you don’t want to see those posts, if they’re hurting your feelings so bad, there are only three fucking options for you: scroll by, unfollow, or speak the fuck up before it gets that far. Because frankly, even I am at the point where I give negative fucks about feelings.
Fuck yo couch. For real.
I don’t even know why I’m typing this. Maybe I’m looking for the formula. Maybe there’s a magical combination of words that will make people listen. Maybe there’s a verbal amalgam that is so undeniable that folks will have to see sense.
But I doubt it.

A friendly heads-up
…..that radfems on tumblr have been known to “innocently” drop anon questions in ask boxes, inquiring as to what exactly “radscum” means. Their intent is to get you engaging with them, or post & dissect your guard-down responses on radscum tumblrs, or otherwise troll you.
Some people don’t mind dealing with them or don’t really care. For me, on a bad day, it can seriously fuck with my mental health. To me they’re people who aren’t going to listen and only want to spew toxic waste and want people like me dead or at least “detransitioned.”
If you get an ask like this & you feel like answering (it could be a totally innocent query, after all) your best bet would probably be to keep your response concise and perhaps provide a link. If the person keeps sending you asks, stay alert to what direction the conversation is going in.
